The Kathá Soma Difference: bio-compatible ingredients

Kathá Soma therapeutics are for vulnerable and troubled skin. Our skin therapeutics modify the disease process to calm symptoms. Each formula has unique medicinal botanical ingredients (phytonutrients) to modify both the stimulus of skin damage and the symptoms.

Kathá Soma skin therapeutics are free from sulfates, synthetic chemicals, parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde, and other compromising ingredients because the body does not respond to synthetic chemicals as it responds to natural compounds (medicinal botanicals). The body tends to perceive synthetics as foreign matter and pushes the synthetic away from cells. Additionally, synthetic medicinals generally provide one active ingredient. Botanical medicinals provide a collection of body friendly active ingredients to modify cell behavior.

Skin is busy renewing 24/7. Skin is composed of two major layers: epidermis (top) and dermis (middle). The epidermis is a continuously renewing layer where keratinocyte cells gradually mature (differentiate), move up and eventually slough off at the surface. The outermost layer of the epidermis, the stratum corneum, is composed of expired and flattened corneocytes cells embedded in a matrix of lipids (fats). The dermis is composed of fibroblast cells and extracellular matrix which provides elasticity and tensile strength.

Kātha-Soma skin therapeutics and mind/body olfactory therapeutics are available through e-commerce (not available in stores).

About the name Kathá Soma
In the Tibetan tradition, a Katha is a white greeting or offering scarf (a gift). One shows respect by giving a Katha. The Katha represents the sincerity of ones offering, with no negative thoughts or motives in mind.

The meaning of Soma refers to the body. . . and more specifically the body as distinguished from the mind.

Blended together the Kathá Soma brand translates to a sincere offering for the body, without negative thoughts or motives.

Mindfulness is a form of meditation in which one is constantly brought back to what’s here, right now. It can mean taking three breaths, or three minutes to just breath. It can mean focusing on the tensions in your body for a while. It can mean looking at your feelings and letting them just be – no need to do anything about them. It can mean watching your mind and just letting those thoughts be.

To meditate does not mean to fight with a problem.
To meditate means to observe.
Your smile proves it.
It proves that you are being gentle with yourself,
that the sun of awareness is shining in you,
that you have control of your situation.
You are yourself,
and you have acquired some peace.
